Islamic State has roamed the Middle East for quite some time by now, and even though their strength is dwindling, there is no telling when the conflicts will cede. In the same period of time France has been a primary target of terrorism and extremist actions.

Why is this? Is there any hope for peace in the Middle East? And is the threat of terror dwindling or just getting started? These are some of the questions that IP-NU invites you to discuss with us at this event.

The French ambassador to Denmark, François Zimeray, has among other things worked as a lawyer at the International Criminal Court and was the French human right ambassador from 2008 to 2013. Besides reporting from the Middle East region for several years, Nicolas Hénin has been held hostage by ISIS for 10 month along with people like James Foley. He is the author of the book “Jihad Academy: The Rise of Islamic State”.

The event is sponsored by DJØF and we ask you to use their website to sign up for the event at https://www.djoef.dk/studerende/kurser-og-arrangementer-for-studerende/studiearrangementer/arrangement.aspx?m4c=10858&m4cct=2581&title=The+threat+of+ISIS
