Mark Sedgwick, professor of Arab and Islamic Studies in the department for the Study of Religion, was elected Chair of the Nordic Association for Middle Eastern Studies at the 2019 general meeting, held in Helsinki. Mark has previously served on the board of the NSMES for three years.
