Throughout her studies, Nicoline Winther has been interested in everyday ethics under precarious condition. For her PhD-project, she will be exploring how young Palestinians in the Jordanian diaspora subjectivize themselves ethically following October 7, 2023 with special attention to online practices. With an ethnographic methodology and a comparative lens, she will ask how Palestinians of different socioeconomic backgrounds make sense of themselves and the Palestinian grand narrative as war in the homeland unfolds. Nicoline has an MA in Middle Eastern Language and Society from the University of Copenhagen and a BA in Arab and Islamic Studies from the University of Aarhus.
