Thomas Hoffman appointed professor at Copenhagen

After four years at Aarhus and in the ICSRU, Thomas Hoffman has been appointed to a professorship in Quranic Studies at the faculty of Theology, University of Copenhagen.

Thomas came to Aarhus in 2009 from a position as a research associate (forskningsadjunkt) at the Center for European Islamic Thought at the Faculty of Theology in Copenhagen. He spent four years as an associate professor at Aarhus, working on intertextuality in the Quran and writing regularly in Weekendavisen. He will now lead a Qur’anic Studies Project in Copenhagen as a member of the Department of Biblical Exegesis. The ICSRU is of course sad to see Thomas go, but delighted that a member of the ICSRU has been selected for this innovative post.
